This parody of televangelism (released just after the real-life scandals of evangelists Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart) stars a young Viggo Mortenson, Exene Cervenka (from the band »X«), Stephen McHattie and Dominique Davalos (from the band »Dominatrix«). SALVATION! premiered at the 1987 Berlinale Festival and is a fascinating time capsule of the 1980s with a wonderful soundtrack comprised of songs by Cabaret Voltaire, Arthur Baker, New Order and others.

In September 2022, New York's MoMA will present a retrospective of Beth B's work, paying tribute to an artist who exploded onto the New York art and film scene in the late 1970s, after receiving her BFA from the School of Visual Arts in 1977. Her prolific career is characterized by work that challenges society’s conventions, with a particular focus on social issues and human rights. In the years following her legendary partnership with Scott B in the Downtown NYC small-gauge filmmaking scene, B has produced over 30 documentary, experimental, and narrative films, as well as interdisciplinary work that has been shown in galleries and museums throughout the world. At the 2022 Kampnagel Summer Festival Beth B is also directing a stage work with and about the singer Little Annie. And the Alabama Cinema will show three movies by her, for which Beth B will give short introductions (as far as this is compatible with the rehearsal schedule for the stage work in the Kampnagel halls next door).
