Withing the frame of FOKUS TANZ #8 SORRY DADDY...
EDUCATE TO RECREATE deepens knowledge of dance styles rooted in BLACK CULTURE. Although there is a lively exchange within the community about the origins of social and dance movements, content outside the bubble is often presented in a highly truncated manner and usually made invisible in the historiography of dance. The Hamburg-based artists Gifty Lartey and Jaclyn Hernandez invite important international representatives to share their knowledge in a five-day exhibition, film, performance and workshop program for beginners and advanced dancers alike.
Funded as part of the Alliance of International Production Houses by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
