Samih Chokier is a Syrian music composer, singer and poet who lives in France. He has been artistically active since 1982. He often combines his poetry with oriental music and presents his work, consisting of ten music albums and two volumes of poetry, in international theaters. In his songs he addresses justice, freedom and beauty and discusses male feelings in social contexts.

Neshama is a music project that combines contemporary music with traditional Arabic folk rhythms and mixes it with field recordings and improvisations. With their collection and reinterpretation of popular songs that spread during the Syrian Revolution, they are pursuing a very unique artistic line.

Nashama is the first group from the Arab World, especially Syria, who enjoy greater popularity in Europe. After one year in Europe, Nashama received the Artistic Residence Award in Paris to continue developing their music and project independently. They released their first album in 2014 and since then have played in many European cities, including Paris, London, Copenhagen, Malmö, Bremen.
