    Kampnagel – K6 Postponed

Update! The concert has to be postponed because the pandemic situation unfortunately still does not allow concerts in April. We are working on a new date in summer 2021, about which we will inform all ticket holders and here promptly.

Her last album "Molecules" was a walk down the cellar to rotten potatoes, Sophie Hunger said in a recent interview. Now, on her new album "Halluzinationen", the Swiss composer, musician and singer sings Hope as the last word – though in the cemetery next to a watch museum, but still: the lonely immersion in the imaginary-hallucinatory ends liberating. "Truth is born in the shape of a dream" is the corresponding line in the song "Maria Magdalena", because nothing is worse than the dictatorship of the rational, for which, for example, the German woman in "Beets of Arsenic" stands for. Her seventh studio album, released in August, is characterized by the subdued upright piano of her Berlin apartment, on which the 10 songs were written in lonely winter months. They were recorded with the British producer Dan Carey (Kate Tempest, Black Midi, Fontaines DC) in the legendary Abbey Road Studios in only six takes in two days. With electronic sound surfaces, complex arrangements, intricate jazz beats and multilingual vocals, the songs here have become an auditory hallucination, showing Sophie Hunger at the peak of her art as a pop stylist. After having already been a guest at Kampnagel in 2013 and 2015, Hunger is now coming to Hamburg together with jazz drummer Julian Satorius and keyboardist Alexis Anérilles to play two concerts with the new songs in one evening – in front of an audience reduced to about 230 people due to the pandemic.
