Mutale Nkonde is an AI Policy Expert, researcher and fellow at Harvard University. She was a co-author on a report called Racial Literacy in Tech that argued that ethics alone would not address racial bias in the design, deployment and governance of advanced technologies. During her keynote she will be exploring these themes and looking at the ways facial recognition and banking algorithms reproduce patterns of racism seen in wider society.
