Performance artist Mariola Brillowska has written an autobiographical novel about her many restraining orders. It made her the darling of this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair – but also cost her her job as a professor at a German art college. Now the courts must decide whether Brillowska’s work, which she herself describes as ‘criminal art’, is indeed modern art or simply a provocation of the middle classes. This is something the author wishes to raise a toast to, and she invites you to a BLOODY MARY CONTEST - an illustrious drinking competition with vodka, tomato juice and a magnificent judging panel.
