It is 2070. lll-Polis is the glamorous, prosperous and biophilic centre in the far south of the Northern Hemisphere. The continent has closed its borders and sealed itself off from the north, which has been disrupted by environmental catastrophes.

The Hamburg artists' collective Baltic Raw Org is building in the Kampnagel-Vorhalle an interactive game arrangement in the form of installation ARAPOLIS about the climate emergency and its effects: ARAPOLIS is both an ark and a time capsule and promises those fleeing Europe a new beginning or entry into paradise. The visitors are equipped with sensor cards with which they can activate seven different stations and are invited to think themselves into different scenarios and make decisions (make bets and assessments on the future), which are evaluated individually at the end. ARAPOLIS intervenes at the point where socially created structures appear as inert systems that can hardly be noticeably changed. In view of the urgency of the decisions to be made, changing awareness and attitudes is considered one of the major social hurdles to averting man-made climate change, which is gradually becoming toxic. Where the individual seems to have lost confidence in his or her own power to influence things, this is where contradiction comes in. The Hamburg artists' collective Baltic Raw Org sees itself as a social organism and temporarily initiates new constructions of realities, connections and complexities in its projects. The audience is part of the staging, the outcome is uncertain.
