HAMBURG REQUIEM is a big musical show between oratorium, installation and a staged concert with the singers and actors Julia Hummer (GESPENSTER) and Jan Plewka (Selig, TempEau, Rio Reiser Interpret) as well as over 80 members of the company:soloists, choirs, brass bands and band musicians from Sven Kacirek (The Palmin Sessions) to Thomas Leboeg (Kante). HAMBURG REQUIEM is a Future Music Picture Show about the downfall and rescue of the Hanseatic City: From the future they will describe how the city was domed like a poisonous mushroom, how the cafes of the city were set on fire, how Sternschanze is dead and empty and how Poeseldorf was plundered. And how Hamburg was rescued.
Commando Himmelfahrt catapults political, social and religious questions from daily politics into the area of the never-ending ideal. Jan Dvorak composes music influenced by Abba, Arcade Fire and Hans Werner Henze, Thomas Fiedler stages Masse Mensch and the Dutch photographer Wil van lersal creates a stage picture from current views of the city.
