Two people, or two bodies, usually form the smallest unit of a gathering. And... now imagine a couple dance, between peers or even across generations. Where are the points of contact? Patricia Carolin Mai's new piece questions that moment of encounter, however brief: will I need the dance to touch my counterpart or, conversely, the touch to dance with my counterpart? Entirely in the tradition of couple dance, the Hamburg choreographer's new group piece is about exploring the desire to want to touch each other in dance, or to claim touching versus being touched for oneself. For the third time in a row, Patricia Carolin Mai is working with a large group of Hamburg dancers of all ages who do not come from a dance background and have different perspectives on body and closeness.
