The two LGBTIQ* activists Pouya Arastoo and Mojtaba Golmohammadi speak extensively about their own biographic experience in specific subjects of the queer diaspora. The lecture will point out structural problems such as double discrimination, but perspectives and queer alternatives will also be formulated. Pouya Arastoo is a social worker in the Cologne association “rubicon” and a coordinator with “baraka - a place for international lesbians, gays & friends”. As an artist, Pouya Arastoo was and is involved in a variety of projects at Kampnagel. Mojtaba Golmohammadi is an author and translator; he works as a journalist for BBC Persian and Radio Zamaneh.

QUEERS IN EXILE (05.-07.10.2017)

For members of the LGBTIQ* community, especially activists, a path to western exile can often mean a step away from repression and vi- olence in daily life and into personal and political freedom. Over the course of three evenings, the QUEERS IN EXILE laboratory presents positions that have generated new bravery and energy in exile – not only to freely express yourself on a personal level, but also artisti- cally and in terms of activism.
