The dance piece ROOM EXIT (Terima Kos) by Indonesian choreographer Jecko Siompo is a discovery that dissolves the supposed contradiction between folklore and pop culture, between indigenous and global cultures and between so-called tradition and so-called modernity in a crazy way. ROOM EXIT (Terima Kos) is an incredible mixture of traditional dance from West Papua and HipHop, a jungle of strange movement cues, according to which the choreographer moves with his ensemble of 10 fantastic young dancers.
On Feb 13th 2010 K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg offers a workshop with Jecko Siompo to all who want to learn more about this tribal dance originating in Papua. For registration follow the link shown below on the right hand side.
